I recently spent a holiday at a hotel in Banchory and there were a few things that I really enjoyed about my stay. the decor was stunning, with lovely little touches and comfortable seating areas. The cozy atmosphere, especially with the big roaring fires, made it a perfect place to relax. the food was delicious, with a variety of options to choose from. The desserts were particularly impressive and definitely worth saving room for. Lastly, the location was ideal, surrounded by beautiful grounds and close to attractions in the area.
While I had an overall pleasant experience, there were a couple of things that could have been better. the room I stayed in could have been more spacious.

We liked the old charm of the hotel - our "attic" bedroom was huge with a huge comfortable bed with lovely linen and a large bathroom . views over the grounds and countryside were lovely . Though, we didnt dine in, the menue read well and had been recommended by other friends
It looks like the hotel has been rundown over the years (it used to be top grade) . The current owners seem to be on a refurbishment programme- it will take a while, good luck

The welcome and service by the staff and the food was excellent
The hotel is in need of refurbishment. Though to be fair the painter had started on the entrance foyer, and there was paint samplers on the walls of the public areas

Lovely country house hotel with well, kept grounds and helpful staff. Spacious rooms with comfortable beds. Great dining experience with well, presented and delicious food. Enjoyed the ambiance and how staff made us feel special.
Bathroom needs upgrading. Weak wifi signal.

The mattress were rather soft compared to our own ones at home but probably suited the average user perfectly well. We also requested a twin room but got two singles made into a double which was not too comfortable. But that would not stop me from using this hotel again, and they were very apologetic
